A series of hand-drawn pictographs serving as a training set for an AI generator of new pictograms. Tens of thousands of these drawings visualize collective human labor embedded in AI systems. AI is often perceived as a transcendent mind separate from us. As an alternative, these hand-drawn visualizations promote the materialist idea of AI as an automated collective statistical machine that synthesizes human labor. This reframes the perception of AI to the realm of material production and economic organization. In other words, when AI draws, it is, in fact, we who are drawing, all of us together.
